Welcome

I truly believe that we should #BuyLess and #AppreciateMore.

Comfortable Wardrobe™ means more than just having something that is comfortable to wear; it also means being comfortable with the impact our choices have on the planet and its people. My blog is grounded in me; who I am, what I stand for and my journey to gain a better understanding of exactly what that means.

By sharing my passion and insights, I hope to empower others to think differently about their clothing choices. My workshops and classes are rooted in my desire to inspire others, with a hands-on approach, to rethink their approach to clothing.

I believe that changing our approach to buying clothing can also change our relationship with our clothing. This ethos drives my limited selection of products, reflecting my commitment to conscious consumerism, as well as a feminine version of feminism.

And Sew It Began …

I started sewing doll clothes as a child, and then moved on to making crushed velvet baby-doll dresses, grunge-style flannel overalls, and even prom dresses, for my friends when I was in high school.

Reuse, repurpose or remake what you already have – it’s cheaper, it’s sustainable and it’s more gratifying!

These early projects eventually led me to designing and redesigning the clothes in my wardrobe, even today. I hope that by reading about my ideas, you will find new ways to wear something that may have been in your closet all along or let me to help you create something unique and different.

…my lifelong passion to curate a wardrobe filled with meaning.

I have spent a lifetime collecting meaningful clothes and accessories and I strive to buy pieces that add something unique to my wardrobe; something I will love and use for years to come. I hope that my blog will inspire you to make your wardrobe more meaningful (and comfortable) to you.

My goal is to prioritize sustainability in every wardrobe choice I make. Appreciating fashion as art is one way to do that as it creates a deeper connection to our clothing.

My passion for clothes, their influence on culture and the people who wear them remains constant. I love clothes, not because they are fashionable, but because they remind me of events and stages of my life. They are mementos that I have collected, the same way people collect souvenirs.
